2K Games heeft aangekondigd dat de eerste downloadable content exclusief zal verschijnen op de PlayStation 3. Gamers die het spel meteen aanschaffen zullen een voucher bij het spel krijgen om “The Betrayal of Jimmy” gratis te kunnen downloaden. Koop je het spel tweedehands en wil je de episode downloaden, dan moet je £6,29 betalen. 2K Games lijkt hiermee Electronic Arts's Project Ten Dollar na te apen wat betreft de aanschaf van tweedehands games, erg flauw ons inziens…


De tweede downloadable content, getiteld “Jimmy's Vendetta”, zal wel op alle drie de platforms verschijnen, achtereenvolgens: PC, PlayStation 3 en Xbox 360.

“The Betrayal of Jimmy shows the mob through Jimmy's eyes. He's the man the mafioso calls when a 'difficult' job needs doing. For Jimmy there are a "dozen" missions based around rampaging through the city causing loads of mayhem. Scores will be recorded and posted automatically to leaderboards.


Jimmy's Vendetta, meanwhile, follows Jimmy while he attempts to clean up other people's messes in new locales and missions. Pricing will be announced at a later date.”

Mafia II verschijnt op 27 augustus op de PC, PS3 en de Xbox 360.
